In this unit, students will create a graphite photo-realistic portrait with a pattern background.
The unit includes four exercises, one finished composition, a rubric and reflection.
Upside-Down Drawing Exercise
This exercise helps you draw what you see, rather than what you think you see. Drawing upside down will help trick your brain into seeing the lines that are actually there, instead of your idea of an eye or an ear.
This drawing is Igor Stravinsky by Pablo Picasso.
