Preparing to Needlepoint or Embroider
Stretching the fabric in the hoop is vital to ending up with a flat object. If your fabric is loose while you work, it will likely be lumpy or curled when you finish.
Needlepoint stitches will make a more uniform look. Use the stiff fabric with larger holes for a consistent, even stitch.
Free-hand embroidery stitches will give you more freedom, but look less consistent. Use a fabric with smaller holes for more flexibility in the length of your stitches.
