CREATE A PIECE THAT WILL STAY ON DISPLAY IN THE SCULPTURE ROOM AS YOUR LEGACY
  • REPETITION (include pattern or repetition in your design)
  • DETAIL (include small details to make your work visually appealing)
  • HIGH CONTRAST (include dramatic differences between two elements - ex. black/white, wood/metal, paper mache/metal)
  • SURFACE FINISH (finish the surface to a high degree)
  • VOLUME (your piece should take up dimensional space)
  • AT LEAST 2 TECHNICAL SKILLS (your piece should use at least two technical skills)

  • PLAN OUT YOUR PROJECT DESIGN (decide what scale, materials, and process will best fit your design ideas)
  • SCULPT (include repetition, small details, a finished surface, and a volumetric structure in your design)
  • USE AT LEAST 2 TECHNICAL SKILLS (enamel, bezel, chain, paper mache, wood/stone carving, resin casting with silicone molds, basketweaving, etc.)

  • CLASSROOM MASCOT (paper mache head on wall - group project)
  • EXAMPLE PROJECTS (display case items - combine wood & metal in jewelry, cast resin pendants for use in a necklace, metal dragonfly, etc.)
  • MINIATURE HOUSE (small world for animation characters)
  • ANIMATION RIGS (tools needed for animation class)
  • BASKETWEAVING (weave a basket using raffia and cotton cord)
