Grading Criteria

INSTRUCTION

  • LEARN THE BASICS (cast on 20 stitches, knit stitch, purl stitch)
  • SELECT A PATTERN (find a pattern you want to make and download the pattern)
  • PRACTICE THE REST OF THE STITCH TYPES (look for other knitting stitches, like K2T, SSK, SKP, etc. in your pattern instructions and practice each type in your practice square)
  • UNDO YOUR PRACTICE SQUARE (unravel your yarn - keep your ball neat)
  • MEASURE YOUR HEAD (you'll want your hat to fit you once you've knit it)
  • KNIT YOUR PATTERN (follow your pattern in your chosen size and yarn)
  • TUCK IN YOUR ENDS (use a knitting eye needle)​
